Herb Williams constructed melting flame-shaped sculptures outside using 60,000 Crayola crayons to raise awareness of wildfires.

I’m seriously struggling with this melted wax thing. I wanted to make a watercolor batik-ish type project, mostly to get a feel for the logo I’m working on, but I can’t figure out the smoothest way to draw with hot wax. It either cools too quickly, or there’s not enough of it where I need it.
The last thing I tried was two paperclips twisted together so that the melted wax would collect between the two paperclips without dripping off right away, but that only left me with spotty results. I also tried to melt down a crayon but that wax was crummy and sucked.
buh.

I’m tempted to try and fashion one of these things out of tin foil or something. I’m getting desperate here.
