my great-grandmother crocheted the afghan that I brought with me to my apartment, and my dad only let me bring it with him under the condition that I knit him another blanket.
I think I want to try and get one made for Christmas or his birthday in January, but I can’t decide what I want this new blanket to look like. I really love the chevron stripes, but I don’t want to make to look like this one. I feel like it should look completely different because it’s coming from me and not from his grandmother.
I want to keep the pattern simple looking, and I don’t want a ton of cables or anything that will make it too heavy or chunky. so essentially I want a repeating pattern that is either flat/solid or lace (the manly kind of lace), and then I might be able to do a little bit of color-work. If I can narrow it down to two patterns that would be perfect because another certain boy also wants a blanket.

New chameleons in the shop!
Out of all the designs I’ve worked on so far, the chameleon took the longest to nail down. It’s easy to crochet something spherical, but once you venture into more complex shapes it takes a bit of finagling before things come out right. It gets frustrating sometimes, but I think the end result is worth it. Plus who doesn’t like a good challenge every now and again?
